Sector Spotlight: Cybersecurity & Defense-Tech

The momentum in Israel's tech sector is overwhelmingly driven by two intertwined verticals: cybersecurity and defense-tech. As artificial intelligence systems proliferate, the need for robust data protection and AI governance has turned cybersecurity into a primary growth engine. Israeli firms raised approximately $4.3 billion in the first nine months of 2026 alone, as investors back companies specializing in protecting data and controlling what AI systems can access.

Simultaneously, the defense-tech sector is experiencing a historic surge. Investments in military and dual-use technologies have reached a record $40.8 billion globally, with Israeli startups benefiting from rising military spending and an insatiable demand for autonomous systems and deployable battlefield technologies. This dual focus on securing digital infrastructure and modernizing physical defense has positioned Israel as a critical hub for "battle-tested" innovation that appeals to both commercial and government buyers.
