NRAI Retains OST Format for Shooting
The National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) announced that it will retain the Olympic Selection Trials (OST) format for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. This decision follows a review of the system used during the 2024 Paris cycle. Selection will continue to rely on a shooter's Final Average Score (FAS) combined with Quota Bonus points. Notably, quota winners do not have guaranteed selection and must compete in the trials to secure their spots.

Policy Update: India's Shooting Selection Criteria
In a move to maintain competitive integrity, the NRAI confirmed minor changes to its shooting selection criteria for the LA 2028 Games. Rifle and pistol shooters will be selected based on their performance in the Olympic Selection Trials. This policy aims to address criticisms from previous cycles by ensuring that current form, rather than just past quota achievements, dictates team composition.
